The Program

No matter the goal we take a whole body, whole mind, whole life approach. From building lean muscle to running a marathon, from fitness based health interventions to doing a single pull-up, we deploy time tested and science based training tools to get you to your goal. Every client starts at a different place, every client has a different goal state in mind, but no matter the start or the finish, we can meet you where you are and help to guide you to who you want to be.

We start with the goal state. What does your final desired end result look like? We then build a map to get there. That map has waypoints, these are smaller goals along the way that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound. We also dive deep into your likes and dislikes. We use that information to build a program suited to you and your goals. Then we continually iterate, optimize and refine as time goes on.

Below are some of the facets of health, fitness and wellness that we can explore together. Some are foundational, meaning they will be in almost every program. Nothing can be accomplished without their presence in at least sufficient levels. That does not mean we have to work on them first and ignore everything else, but we need to craft programs that get them up to a sufficient level and then programs that keep building them up higher and higher. You cannot build a house without a foundation and the larger the foundation the larger the house that you can build. Put simply, work on the Foundational Layer never ends.

Upon the Foundational Layer we can pursue a number of functional adaptations that you can choose to the extent they align with your given goal state. These are broad fitness and health adaptations that we can drive at the organ or even the cellular level. Building more muscle, getting stronger, increasing the efficiency of our cardiorespiratory system and preparing to meet the challenges of aging are all examples of the Adaptation Layer.

Upon the Adaptation Layer, you can, but don’t have to, add a Performance Layer. This may be a final output given your goal state. Something like “run a marathon in under X hours” or “improve my golf drive distance by 20%” or “bench press 250 lbs”. The Adaptation Layer provides the raw material necessary to complete something in the Performance Lawyer, however, the Performance Layer may require specialized training that goes beyond the more generalized training of the Adaptation Layer.

We encourage you to read through at least a few of the health facets below, as they will give you an idea of what we mean by whole body, whole mind, whole life approach. Simply click on any that you find interesting.
