Health Maintenance

What is it?

Exercise and nutrition can both maintain health and help address the health issues that will inevitably crop up during the human lifespan. While medicine and the advice of your doctor are incredibly important for dealing with any health issues, it is a shame that the medical profession does not feel competent enough to prescribe exercise in general or any type of training specifically to help address human health issues.

Why do I want it?

It’s a tautology, but people who maintain their health longer, live longer and healthier lives. We can often stave off the diseases of aging through exercise and we will often do better against those diseases when they occur if we are physically fit.

These exercise and nutrition led health interventions should be seen as an addition to, not a replacement for, the tools of modern medicine. But those tools themselves can benefit greatly from being joined with fitness led health interventions.

How do I train it?

It depends on the condition, but there is clear science on training programs that can benefit a host of human health issues, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 Diabetes/insulin resistance, excess adiposity, inflammation, joint and mobility issues, etc.

And of course the program described throughout this website includes facets that in and of themselves help promote health and longevity, hopefully helping to push off the inevitable.
